Fifteen years ago I suddenly became paralysed and had to learn to walk again. Since then I have immersed myself in many healing practices. Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I had found Tai Chi sooner.

When I step into class now it is not always comfortable. Tai Chi asks me to face myself, my physical limits, my resistance and my patterns. Most times the gentle movements bring me to tears. I feel blockages releasing, as if something long held is finally softening. It always reminds me that it is not about pushing harder but about being softer, allowing my nervous system to feel safe again.
